EVANGELISATION & FAITH FORMATION
Evangelisation means bringing the Good News to all strata of humanity, and through its influence, transforming humanity from within and making it new (On Evangelisation in the Modern World, 1975, n.18).
Jubilee is both an educating and evangelizing community. We try to give an authentic voice to the religious dimension of life through our community of faith. As an Ecumenical school, we are motivated and inspired by the Good News of Jesus Christ. We look for every opportunity to invite our parents and wider community to our celebrations so that they have the opportunity to deepen their own faith as we contribute to the faith formation of the students in our care.
We embrace a ‘Sense of the Sacred’ at Jubilee. Our school has sacred and reflective spaces in classrooms and around the school. Each classroom has a Sacred Space that reflects the liturgical season, appropriate feast day, school celebration or particular Church theme.
One of the special qualities of Jubilee is the variety of greetings as you enter each classroom. These reflect the particular faith background of the teacher, “Good Morning and Shalom!”, “God thinks you are awesome!” “Good morning and peace be with you!”, etc.
Through our "Outreach" and "Helping Hands" projects we give focus to living the Gospel and giving witness to the wider community. A representative group of student leaders also participate in the Caritas 'Just Leadership Day.'
Jubilee uses Twitter, Facebook, the Jubilee App, email, newsletters and bulletins to communicate our explicit values. This use of various social media forms keep our wider community informed of Covenant Church events and school happenings. There is always a prayer or reflection on our Jubilee School Newsletter.
